Christian Bedat and his mother Simone Bedat founded Bedat & Co., maker and manufacturer of Bedat watches, in 1996. In 2000, the Gucci Group bought 85% of the business and combined the watches of both companies. Since then Christian and his mother have left the company and Gucci Group now owns 100% of the company. They continue to manufacture Bedat watches. Their logo is the number "8" which has many different meanings, but the most consistent with their watches is "rich and prosperous".
