Gerd-R Lang, an expert in the field of watches and watch making, specifically chronograph watches, founded the Chronoswiss Company, maker of Chronoswiss watches in the 1980s. He also wrote a book about chronograph watches. Chronoswiss exclusively makes high-quality technical watches. Their watches are distinguishable from the rest by their guilloche dials, onion crowns and coin-edged cases.

The Chronoswiss Delphis is noted to be their most interesting and original timepiece. It has jumping hours and retrograde minutes and the seconds are displayed at 6 o'clock. It features the caliber 122, a 21,600 beats per hour movement and unidirectional winding. The men's Chronoswiss Opus has a stainless steel skeleton case 42mm wide with an automatic Chronoswiss caliber C.741 with 25 jewels. The Chronoswiss Chronoscope, which was made in time for their 20th anniversary, is the one watch they claim is a tribute to their watch making skills and talent. It is the first watch with chronograph function and display on the regulator dial. A lacquered metal dial show you the hours off-center on the subdial below 12, the minutes on the central axial hand and the seconds on the subdial above the 6. The steel hands are reddish blue in color and tell time to the nearest 1/6 of a second. The automatic mechanical movement, crocodile skin strap and anti-reflective sapphire crystal make this a timepiece worth the credit it is given.
