Patek Philippe

Patek Philippe is a watch making company started by two Polish men, Norbert de Patek and François Czapek in 1839. After the dissolution of the partnership between the two, Czapek withdrew and Adrien Philippe joined forces with Patek and started the watch business now known as Patek Philippe. With the combination of Philippe and Patek, the business began to boom with the creation of Patek Philippe watches. In 1844, the two created the first new Patek Philippe invention- a keyless winding and setting system, which replaced all watches that had to be wound and set with a key. If the key was lost, the watch was no good. This was a real advancement into the future of watches.
